Feestdagen!Ik weet dat het lang geleden is dat ik nog nieuw materiaal heb geplaatst. Het is dan ook erg druk geweest de laatste maanden. Er is nauwelijks tijd geweest om creatief te zijn, dus laat staan om er hier over te praten. Nu heb ik twee weken vakantie en probeer ik het toch een beetje goed te maken met een feestelijk bureaublad.

The next to weeks I’m having some free time so I hope I’ll be able to make it up to you. As a starter I have a free festive desktop image!

Houtzaagsel tot kraal 
Wat je nodig hebt:
houtzaagsel
Houtlijm
Acryl verf
Vernis
Penseel (kleine maten)
Oven (of een paar dagen geduld)
Schuurpapier (Ik heb nr 360 en 180 gebruikt dat is één met fijne textuur en een ruwere)
Neem een beetje houtzaagsel en mix het met de lijm. Kneed het door elkaar tot je een bal bekomt die niet te droog en niet te kleverig aanvoelt (hiervoor moet je een beetje experimenteren met de verhoudingen). Maak niet te veel in één keer want het droogt vrij snel. Nu kan je kralen maken uit je mengsel (ik maakte er in de vorm van matroesjka’s maar je kan alle kanten op). Vergeet niet om een gaatje in de kralen te maken. Laat de oven voorverwarmen tot ongeveer 160° a 180° (je kan de parels ook zonder oven laten drogen maar dat kan wel vrij lang duren). Plaats je kralen in de oven (de mijne hadden ongeveer 40 minuten nodig). Haal ze terug uit de oven en laat afkoelen. Test eens ze koud zijn of de kralen goed stevig zijn, als ze nog zacht aanvoelen plaats ze dan opnieuw even in de oven. Als je het oppervlak gladder wil maken moet je ze een beetje opschuren. Nu kan je de kralen beschilderen of gewoon vernissen. Ik heb mijn kralen nog eens extra vernist na het beschilderen. Als de gaatjes in de kraal niet groot genoeg zijn kan je er makkelijk een groter in boren.
Sawdust into beads
What you will need:
Sawdust (real fine with no lumps)
wood glue (Waterproof)
acrylic paint
varnish (transparent)
painting brush (small sizes)
oven (or some days of patients)
sanding paper (I used 360 and 180 that’s one with a fine texture and a rougher
one)
Take some fine sawdust and mix it with wood glue. knead it together until you get a bal that’s not to sticky and not to dry (just experiment adding more glue or dust). It is best to make small amounts at a time because it dries pretty quick. Now you can make all kinds of beads out of them (I made matroesjka shaped ones). Don’t make them to big otherwise they won’t dry on the inside. Don’t forget to make holes in them. Preheat your oven until about 160°-180° (you can also let them dry whiteout an oven but it may take some time). Put your beads into the oven (mine have been in there for about 40 minutes). Get them out of the oven and let them cool. Once there cool you can check if they are completely hard. If they are still a bit soft put them back in the oven for a while. If you want smooth beads you need to sand them, first with the rough paper than with the fine one. Now you can paint your beads with acrylic paint or just put some varnish on them. I’ve finished mine of with some varnish after painting them. If the holes aren’t big enough you can drill bigger ones in your beads.

Boxershort (met werkbeschrijving!)
Omdat ik toch wel tevreden was over de patronen die ik zelf ontworpen had, ging ik op zoek naar een manier om ze op stof te krijgen. Ik had al eerder naamlabels via mijn printer op stof gedrukt (voor werkwijze zie site
Madame Zsazsa)dus zou het ook moeten lukken om prints op stof te drukken. Hieronder kan je lezen hoe ik tewerk gegaan ben om mijn eigen boxershort te maken!
Benodigdheden:
Oude witte T-shirt (kleur kan ook maar dan moet de print donkerder zijn dan de stof)
Lijmspray (lijmstift zoals prit werkt naar het schijnt ook)
A4 printer papier
Strijkijzer
azijn
Schaar
Patroon voor short (zelf tekenen van een paar dat je al hebt of deze gebruiken
Cheeky panties at burdastyle)
Stevige elastiek
Draad
Naaimachine
Spelden
Ontwerp een patroon (zie vorige post) en plaats dit in photoshop (of welk ander programma jij dit mee kan) op een A4.
Knip de naden uit je T-shirt zodat je zo groot mogelijke stukken stof overhoud. Spray lijm op een A4 printblad (niet te dichtbij spuiten anders wordt de lijmlaag te dik). Kleef je A4 nadat hij een minuutje heeft gedroogd op je stuk T-shirt. Herhaal dit naargelang de hoeveelheid stof je wil printen (ik had genoeg aan vijf A4’s om mijn shortje te maken). Knip rond je A4 vellen de overtollige stof weg.
Zoek uit op welke zijde van je papier je printer print. Plaats Je stof in de printer (de stof is de te bedrukken kant). Print nu je patroon op de stof (beste kwaliteit print, papier glanzend of als je die optie hebt katoen). Laat de stof een minuutje drogen en trek dan het vel papier eraf.
Om te zorgen dat de print langer meegaat, week de stof in water met veel azijn voor enkele minuutjes. Wring de stof uit en strijk deze tot ze droog is.
Hoe je de boxershort juist in elkaar zet ga ik niet helemaal uitleggen omdat ik hier zelf nog niet zo bedreven in bent. Ik zal wel een paar tips geven:
Je boxershort moet meerekken dus zorg dat de steek die je gebruikt ook rekt (kijk hiervoor in je handleiding).
Als je patroon onderdelen te groot zijn voor een A4 maak dit stuk dan in twee delen die je aan mekaar naait.
Speld ieder deel dat je wil naaien aan elkaar het zal je heel wat mislukkingen besparen (en zo win je meer tijd dan wanneer je niet zou spelden)
Als je een rekker aan de bovenrand wil leg deze dan bij het samen naaien gewoon op je stof (rek hem zeker niet uit).
Heb je een eerder kleine of eerder grote maat dan kan het zijn dat het patroon van burdastyle je niet past. Probeer dan een eigen goed zittende short na te maken. Leg de short op papier en teken rond de verschillende onderdelen.
Veel plezier bij het uitproberen en laat me weten als je iets niet begrijpt.
Briefs (with tutorial!)
Because I was quite happy with the patterns that I’ve designed, I looked for a way to get them onto fabric. I had printed my own name labels before so I knew it should be possible to print my own fabric. I will tell you starting with the fabric how I made my own briefs!
What you will need:
An old white T-shirt (you can use a colored one your print has to be darker than the fabric)
Glue spray
Paper for your printer
Scissors
Pattern for Briefs (you can draw it yourself or take a look at this one Cheeky panties)
Elastic
Pins
Thread
Iron
vinegar
Sewing machine
Design a pattern (see previeus post) en place it in photoshop (or whatever program you like to use) on a paper that’s the same size of your printer paper.
Cut large pieces of fabric out of your T-shirt. Spray glue on your paper. Let it dry for a minute. Place the paper on your fabric. Make sure it’s nice and even. Cut around the paper to remove excess fabric. Repeat this step until you have enough fabric to print on.
Put your fabric in the printer make sure that the print gets on the fabric. Print the pattern on your fabric (Quality High, glossy paper or cotton if you have that option). Let the fabric dry for a minute and remove the paper.
To make sure your print will last longer, put the fabric in water with a lot of vinegar for a couple of minutes. Get rid of the excess water and iron the fabric until its dry.
I’m not going to tell you what’s the best way to make a pair of briefs becouse I’m not that good in sewing. I’ll give you some advice:
The fabric is stretchy so make sure the stitch you use is stretchy to (Look into the guide of your sewing machine for more info)
If the pattern pieces you use are to big you should split them up and sew them together later.
Use pins to put your pieces together before sewing.
Don’t stretch your elastic when your sewing it onto your briefs.
If you have A bigger or smaller size than the one you can find on burdastyle try making your own pattern by tracing a pair of your own briefs.

Nog meer matroesjka’sEen tijdje geleden bestelde ik voor het eerste een pakketje borduurmateriaal bij
Sublime Stiching. Ik had al vaak op hun site rondgekeken maar nog nooit eerder iets besteld. Toen zag ik hun nieuwe matroesjka patroontjes en kon ik het echt niet meer laten (en de gunstige dollar speelt natuurlijk ook wel een rol). Al eventjes is mijn pakketje aangekomen. Ben helemaal tevreden met de ruime keus aan borduurplaatjes die ik nu heb. Ik ben nu ook al weer even begonnen aan het eerste projectje waarop ik de patroontjes kon uittesten. Een oud eerder saai polootje wordt nu helemaal omgetoverd met mijn geliefde Russische poppetjes erop!

Sublime Stiching. I had often been looking on their site but never before ordered something. That’s until I saw their new matryoska patterns. My package has arrived a couple of weeks ago. I am so happy whit the wide choice of embroidery patterns I have now. I already started my first project to test the patterns. An old boring T-shirt gets a Russian make over!

Linkje naar een toffe Vlaamse blog madam Soms gebeurt het en dan botst ge op een parelke. Al een tijdje lees ik de super leuke blog van
Mme Zsazsa . Voor wie nog nooit van haar gehoord heeft , graag kookt, bioteelt of creatief geïnspireerd geraakt…. ga snel eens kijken want het is de moeite waard. Je vindt er super duidelijke, originele en leerrijke handwerk tutorials. En dat alles met een super dikke vette knipoog. Ik word er telkens weer vrolijk van!
Oh ja en vergeet niet het recept voor “de lekkerste spaghetti met ballen” uit te proberen want het is echt super lekkeuuuuuur

le fabuleux destin d'amelie poulainHelemaal geïnspireerd door mijn favoriete dromerige film “le fabuleux destin d'amelie poulain” ben ik aan de slag gegaan om een rokje te ontwerpen. Voor het eerst heb ik ook het patroon helemaal zelf getekend (ik leg later nog wel eens uit hoe je dit eenvoudig zelf kunt). Het resultaat mag er zijn al zeg ik het zelf. Ik zal alleen nog even goed moeten oefenen op het plaatsen van een rits (tips zijn altijd welkom). Voor de tekening heb ik een foto uit de film met photoshop bewerkt en doorgetekend op de stof. Deze tekening heb ik daarna ingekleurd met speciale textielstift.
Als je deze film nog niet gezien hebt zeker doen, je wordt er helemaal vrolijk en positief van!
Amelie from Montmartre
Inspired by my favorite romantic movie “Amelie from Montmartre” I made a playful skirt. For the first time I drew the pattern on my own (later I will tell you how I did that). I am quite happy about the final result. I’ll just need some practice to put in the zipper. For the drawing I used I picture from the movie and made it into a black and white drawing with photoshop. The drawing is made with special textile ink.
If you haven’t seen this movie jet you realy need to, It’s a real feel good movie!

Via een post op het craftygirls forum kwam ik in contact met Amber van
hippiekuddels. Op haar blog vond ik een leuke uitnodiging! Pay it forward!
Pay it forward draait rond het geven en maken van cadeautjes. Wat moet je doen als je wil meedoen? Om te beginnen reageren op dit berichtje (niet via mail maar gewoon op mijn blog). Ring uit Krimpie DinkieTot nu toe had ik krimpfolie alleen gebruikt om platte figuurtjes te maken. Maar als de folie warm is is deze zeer buigzaam. Dus wilde ik hier eens mee gaan experimenteren. Zo is het idee ontstaan om ringen van krimpfolie te maken.
Shrinkie Dinkie ring
Until now I had only used shrink foil to make flat objects. But when you heat the foil it gets bendable. So I wanted to do some experiments whit that. This is how I got to the idea of making a ring out of shrinkfoil.
Benodigdheden:Krimpfolie
(het leuke is dat je restjes kan gebruiken om ringen te maken)
Stukje stevige plooibaar plastic
(vaak terug te vinden in verpakkingsmateriaal)
Potlood
Acrylverf
Schaar
Restjes papier
Kleefband
What you need:
Shrink foil
(you can use Small leftovers for this)
A piece of bendable plastic
(often used in packaging)
A pencil
Acrylic paint
Scissors
Paper
TapeWerkwijzeKnip een fijn lang strookje uit de folie (breedte = breedte ring). Plooi deze folie rond de vinger waar je je ring wil dragen, zo kan je de lengte bepalen (de lengte moet net iets te kort zijn om helemaal rond de vinger te kunnen). Knip nu de folie op gewenste lengte af. Nu kan je gaan meten hoe lang en hoe breed je ring moet worden.
De volgende stap is bepalen hoe groot je de ring op je krimpvel moet tekenen. Hiervoor neem je de maten die je daarnet hebt bepaald en doe deze maal 2,218
5,5 cm x 2,218 = 12,19 cm
1 cm x 2,218 = 2,218 cm
Knip nu uit een stuk folie een strook met de bekomen maten. Deze kan je nu gebruiken als mal.
Instructions
Cut a out a piece of foil ( approx 5,5 cm x 1cm). You should be able to rap it around your finger.
The next step is to calculate how big you will have to draw the ring on the shrink foil. Therefore you take the measurements you made before and multiply it by 2,218.
5,5 cm x 2,218 = 12,19 cm
1 cm x 2,218 = 2,218 cm
Cut out a piece of foil with these measurements. You can use this as to draw your rings on the shrink foil. 
Nu kan je je ringen op de krimpfolie overbrengen.
Draw some rings on your shrink foil.
Kleur de ringen in naar smaak (ik heb hiervoor acrylverf gebruikt). Knip de ringen uit.
Colour your rings (I used acrylic paint for this).Cut out the rings.
Nu moet je nog een pasvorm maken voor je ring. Dit kan zeer gemakkelijk door een aantal stroken papier rond een potlood te wikkelen en vast te maken met kleefband(om de juiste dikte te testen kan je een bestaande ring gebruiken ter controle).
Warm de oven voor op de temperatuur die je op je verpakking vindt. Plaats de vormpjes in de oven en wacht tot ze helemaal gekrompen zijn en plat liggen. Neem een strookje uit de oven en krul deze rond je pasvorm (dit moet snel gebeuren). Je kunt de strook terug in de oven plaatsen zodat hij weer zacht wordt en je de vorm helemaal goed krijgt.
You have to make a cylinder that's as thick as your finger. You can do this by rapping some paper round a pencil and fix it wit tape (you can use an existing ring to check the size).
Heat the oven. Put your drawings in the oven. Wait until the lay flat. Take the ring out the oven and wrap it around the cylinder (you should do this quick). You can put the ring back into the oven until its soft again. 
Tip: Om frustratie te vermeiden kan je eerst testen met een onbewerkt strookje krimpfolie.
Hint: To avoid frustration you can test the process whit a blank piece of shrink foil.

Verbluffende fotografie
Zoals ik heb verteld toen ik mezelf voorstelde, ben ik vaak bezig met fotografie. Ik ben daarom sterk geïnteresseerd in andere fotografie talenten. Toen ik toevallig op de foto's botste van
Rarindra Prakarsa kreeg ik een echt kippenvel moment. Hopelijk genieten jullie er ook zo van!

Spaanse popSinds ik deze tutorial had gezien (
amigurumi-hair-tutorial) wilde ik graag een poging doen om zelf een amigurumi pop te maken. Omdat ik geen goed patroontje vond voor het lijftje heb ik dat zelf bedacht terwijl ik aan het haken was. Aangezien dit één van mijn eerste popjes is die ik gemaakt heb ben ik best wel tevreden. Hopelijk kan ik later nog meer van dit soort werkjes posten samen met een patroon (want dat ben ik vergeten opschrijven).
Spanish doll
since I have seen this tutorial (amigurumi-hair-tutorial) I wanted to make my own doll. Because I didn't find a good pattern for a dolls body I made one myself. Knowing that this is my first doll, I am quit happy whit the result. Hopefully I will be able to post other projects like this in the future with there pattern (because I forgot to write it down).
